Welcome to the department of mathematics where formulations and solutions to many problems are the order of the day. Mathematicians are critical thinkers who analyse situations and proffer solution to the problem. consequently, knowledge of mathematics open gate way to many different professionals in diverse areas of natural, physical and social sciences. Direct application of mathematics may be seen in many aspect of modern life such as Mathematical Biology , Actuarial Mathematics, Engineering, Operational research and software design. Therefore, the field of Mathematics is quite diverse and its application cannot be over emphasised it is a matter of personal taste which aspect you may find most interesting. The department render services to all departments----------. The services make strong impact in inspiring student with innovations that help them to open the doors of opportunities for professionalism in their fields.

Head of Department

The department was established in April, 2015. It is headed by Abdullah Ahmed who is senior lecturer with more than twenty years working experience in teaching and academic research. He had B.Sc Mathematics in 1996 and M.Sc mathematics, 2013 from Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto. He presented and published more than ten (10) articles in both national and international Journals. He attended many conferences and workshops in Nigeria. He is also a member of Mathematical Association of Nigeria (MAN), Mathematical Society of Nigeria (MSN) and Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN). He is presently the Dean Student Affairs Division, Office of The Rector. Currently he is an google scholar and Linkedin, the social media platform for acadamic and professionals.
